”After blasting onto the scene in 2010 on the biggest dancehall tune of the year, “Clarks,” Portmore’s Popcaan has since proved himself as one of the most talented up-and-coming vocalists in the genre. Coming up as Vybz Kartel’s protégé, this year the 23 year old has lent his distinctive voice to an arsenal of bashment hits, from ghetto laments to party smashers. BBC 1xtra has tapped the single to feature in their Hot 20 of 2012 special airing on January 1st and will follow by keeping the track on their playlist – a strong start for 2012.

This cut from Konshens, in my opinion, stands head and shoulders above the rest. Konshens always comes correct, his tone, phrasing and way with melody always seem to make his tunes sound like singles in their own right and I often find myself neglecting or even completely forgetting the rest of the tracks on a rhythm when he delivers like this. His voice, when paired with this sort of production, gives me a buzz reminding me why I fell in love with this music.
You’ll want to wheel it as soon as you hear the crisp snare hits and lush synth stabs at the beginning of the track … . ‘We different … We do We ting different’
